Steve Hacket sagte Folgendes zum Track: “A story of a love that begins with great promise, but turns into a nightmare. The vampire is an abusive partner, who drains her victim of energy and self esteem, thereby ensuring ultimate control.
Vampires are great metaphors for abusive relationships. There's a lot of dark stuff often hidden behind a benign and often glamorous exterior. Beware the vampire who conceals those teeth when you first meet. Here, the verse which has a personal vibe contrasting with the big chorus, followed by powerful guitar and a Slavic orchestral atmosphere.
